...rising star at KidzHitz - marche polonia dumaurier

bohemian with a renaissance soul who has always marched to her own drum, Marche discovered her passion last summer when she was gifted an acoustic quitar and a lesson package to KidzHitz in Huntington.  until then she had played the clarinet in the school band ensemble and has taken several years of piano under Sue Hendon of Northport.  while embracing the new alternative music her older sister blasts, Marche pushed that envelope to find lesser known groups and appreciates the classic sounds of jazz, R & B, bassanova and 80's rock-a-billy.  she is still perfecting her own unique style but has hints of Fiona Apple, Tracy Chapman, and Two Door Cinema Club.  she and her friday-night bandmates at KidzHitz debuted last october during the Huntington Fall Festival and performed at the May Tulip Festival.

as an eighth grader at cold spring harbor jr./high school, Marche has a voracious appetite for knowledge and facts and enjoys sparing with any challenger on topics of science and history.  she loves snakes and climbing trees and has taken up surfing.  her favorite movie is 'moulin rouge' because of the re-interpretation of original songs to the script and its exaggerated period performance - and Ewan McGregor is nice to look at!  this film encouraged her to be part of the stage-crew for her school plays.

Marche is very generous of her time and affections by participating in Save the Children activities; Mr. Homer's Home Ed after school functions; and preparing and distributing meals on the south shore are for food bank locations.  hard-working and innovative, she makes herself available to most causes and interests of her friends.  Mr. Eli, one of her dearest friends, even convinced her to get a mohawk...and she loves it!  she is possibly channeling Boy George from the Culture Club of the 80's.

Miss DuMaurier aspires to be an accomplished musician, proficient in playing various forms of guitar and the drums.  looking to the sounds of Imagine Dragons and Elton John for inspiration, she continues to refine her technique and search for new interests in the field of music.
