it was either fashion or horses; new york or paris; business or art; private or public – the choice has been all of the above in its own time.
in 2005, it was time to bring all this experience and knowledge to our community. being transplants from the city, we found a need for 'urban society' to be translated into suburbia. we set-up shop in a quaint harbor village full of children, lots of dogs, and welcoming 'hellos'.
we have introduced our neighbors, and now you, to the idea of looking beyond the label and appreciating an object for itself. turning a garment inside out to see if it has a 'french' seam or pick-stick detailing; recognizing the suppleness of a kid leather handbag to a rugged leather satchel; or identifying the craftsmanship of vintage or antique lighting and furniture. for our foodies, sharing recipes and dry goods to enhance their meal.
and asking questions to give guidance in selecting a thoughtful gift – even for those who have it all…
